Innovative app will empower customers to easily locate correct type of isolator and quickly find nearest distributor.
In what is believed to be the first in the category, Mackay Consolidated Industries has launched a new iPhone app for its Vibration Isolator range.
A 100% Australian owned private company, Mackay Consolidated Industries is a major supplier of a diverse range of engineered rubber and bonded metal/rubber composite products for the automotive, defence, transport, construction and industrial markets.
Mackay is Australia’s largest supplier of Vibration Isolators used across the automotive, industrial, marine, rail, mining and truck markets by a diverse range of end users.
Vibration Isolators are used for a myriad of different purposes from mounting delicate electronic equipment to reducing vibration in very large engine installations.
The free app has been designed to allow customers to easily review Mackay’s extensive range of isolators in order to assist them to select the right type for the task.
A description of each of the isolator’s core functions and capabilities is included along with typical usage details to aid in the selection process.
The app features pictures of each isolator type, thereby providing a visual confirmation of the isolator’s suitability for its intended use.
If further information or detailed technical specifications are required there is a direct link to the master isolator catalogue on the Mackay website.
Mackay has a large network of distributors and one of the most important and useful features of the app is the ability to locate a user’s nearest distributor. Via gps, the app automatically searches the database of distributors and locates the nearest 10 from the user’s current position.
The distributor's name and the distance to its premises is indicated, allowing the user to select an outlet in close proximity. Once selected, the distributor’s full address and contact details are provided, along with a map and direction details if required.
The app also has links to other key areas of Mackay’s capabilities including Automotive aftermarket components and other Industrial products.
“We expect our new app to be extremely useful for those people seeking both a Vibration Isolator and details of their nearest distributor,” said Mackay National Sales Manager, Geoff Geist.
“ This app is the first of what we refer to as the ‘Mackay Guides’ and we are looking at developing other guides for the Automotive and Industrial markets at some point in the future,” Mr. Geist went onto say.
Mackay’s automotive aftermarket parts include a comprehensive range of common car components such as hoses, mountings and various elastomer based undercar componentry designed to suit Australian, European, Japanese, Korean and North American vehicles.
Mackay exports these essential products worldwide, where it maintains a competitive advantage based on service and quality and not price alone.
Mackay has recently completed a number of plant upgrades at their manufacturing plant in Moorabbin Victoria, to improve production efficiencies, increase output and enhance their already high levels of quality control to the benefit of customers.
The free app will be available for download from the iTunes store in early May 2011.
